If you’re thinking about having senior photos taken, hold up—don’t do anything until you read this! These five tips will help you feel confident and prepared when booking your photoshoot… and they might even surprise you!

1. Book Early (Like… Now!) Just because you book now doesn’t mean your session happens right away. Booking early simply reserves your date—and trust me, the earlier you book, the more likely you are to get your preferred date! I always recommend booking your session at least 2–3 months before you want it to take place. So if you’re dreaming of an April shoot, you should reach out in January (or sooner!). Booking ahead also saves you the stress of trying to squeeze it in during the craziness of senior year. Get it on the calendar before life gets wild!
2. You Don’t Have to Plan Everything Yourself! This is a big one. You shouldn’t have to plan the entire shoot on your own—that’s what I’m here for! At LKP, I take care of all the details and help design the photoshoot of your dreams. I’ll guide you through what to wear, what time of day to shoot, how to prep, and even help with hair and makeup if needed. Every LKP senior gets helpful prep guides, outfit inspo, and support every step of the way so you feel totally confident and stress-free going into your session.
3. No Location? No Problem! Worried because you don’t know where you want to shoot? Don’t stress! I’ve got a list of beautiful, senior-tested locations around Florida and suggestions based on your personal style and vision. If you have access to a unique location—maybe a family property, a cool rooftop, or somewhere meaningful to you—I’m always down to check it out ahead of time to make sure the light and setting will give us gorgeous results.
4. You Don’t Need to Know How to Pose Feeling nervous about being in front of the camera? You’re not alone! Most of my seniors tell me they’re worried they’ll look awkward or won’t know what to do. But here’s the good news: You don’t have to know how to pose—that’s my job. I’ll show you exactly what to do, walk you through poses step-by-step, and make sure you look and feel like your best self. My goal is always to make the posing feel fun, natural, and totally YOU.
5. There’s More to Senior Photos Than Just Digitals! Sure, digitals are amazing for social media—but don’t forget the magic of tangible keepsakes! Most of my clients choose a mix of digital files and beautiful heirloom products like albums, wall art, or custom graduation announcements. These aren’t just photos—they’re memories you and your family can look back on and cherish for years to come. Trust me, your parents will thank you!
From brainstorming ideas and styling your shoot to helping you pick the perfect way to display your images, I’m here for you every step of the way. If you’re ready to start planning your senior session, I’d LOVE to chat!
