One of the most popular questions I get is…
“When should I book my senior session—summer, fall, winter, or spring?”

Almost every senior wants to know—and honestly? There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Here in Florida, we’re lucky to have warm weather year-round, which means we can photograph gorgeous senior sessions in any season. The best time really depends on you—your schedule, your vibe, and the kind of photos you’re dreaming about.
Before we dive into the pros and cons of each season, ask yourself a few quick questions:
- What’s the overall vibe I want for my session?
Golden tones and soft light? Maybe fall is for you. Lush greenery and blooming flowers? Spring might be perfect. - What kind of outfits do I feel most confident in?
If you love dresses, sandals, and sunshine—spring or summer could be your season. Love layers, hats, boots, and textures? Go for winter or early fall. - What does my personal schedule look like?
If you play a sport, have a part-time job, or are involved in a lot of activities, choose a season when your calendar isn’t packed. - When do I actually need my photos?
Deadlines for yearbook ads or graduation announcements might influence your timing, so make sure we plan ahead! - What’s my favorite season in Florida?
We may not get a true “fall” or “winter,” but you still might have a preference for warm, breezy spring vibes or golden sunsets in the summer.
Now, let’s talk about the seasons—Florida style.

☀️ SUMMER (June–August)
Pros:
- Long days and dreamy golden sunsets
- Your summer glow (aka tan) is on point
- Less school stress = more flexible scheduling
- Great for beach or destination shoots
- More availability for sessions
- Perfect if you love breezy summer outfits (hello, sundresses and sandals)
- You’ll get it checked off your list before senior year gets busy
Cons:
- HOT. Like… Florida hot. Think heat + humidity + frizz
- You may be balancing a summer job, travel, or camps
- Might feel early if you haven’t started your senior year yet

🍂 FALL (September–November)
Pros:
- Slightly cooler temps (finally!)
- Gorgeous golden light
- Still plenty of greenery, but with some warm tones
- Great if you love mixed outfits—think dresses and boots
- More availability than spring
- Ideal timing for yearbook ad deadlines
Cons:
- Days start getting shorter, so we’ll need to shoot earlier in the day
- Fall sports and school events may take up your schedule
- Florida doesn’t give us much “fall color,” so don’t expect red and orange trees

❄️ WINTER (December–February)
Pros:
- Great light (hello, low winter sun!)
- Cooler, more comfortable temps (especially for outfit changes!)
- More availability around winter break
- Perfect for layered looks—jeans, sweaters, cute jackets
Cons:
- Florida can surprise us with random cold fronts (yep, it happens)
- Some nature spots may look a little dull or dry
- Days are shorter, so we’ll have a tighter window to shoot

🌸 SPRING (March–May)
Pros:
- Florida spring is gorgeous—bright greens, blooms, and warm breezes
- Longer days = later sunset sessions
- If you want photos close to graduation, this is the time
- Great for flowy dresses, pastels, and spring fashion
Cons:
- Florida spring = unpredictable weather and rain delays
- This is the busiest time of year for seniors (think prom, grad prep, spring break)
- Limited session dates and high demand
- Allergies! Pollen is wild here
- If reschedules happen, it may be tricky to get images back in time for invites or announcements
